Hollow Dominion Update 1.0

At this moment in time, Hollow Dominion - my Grim Dark Space Opera novel - is at over 70,000 words. This is a huge achievement for me. Having only started the book about two months ago, in September, as a writing exercise for one of my other books, I quickly fell in love with the setting and characters. The first act, entitled “Shadows,” has essentially flowed from the ethereal realms inside my mind and landed upon a Google Doc in a short time.

I have begun to edit and rewrite this first act. My thinking is that if I can manage to write a few chapters, go back, read, and polish them until each act is done, and do the same for the full act, I will have something somewhat cohesive and engaging. As I simultaneously figure out the book and this blog, I will do my best to update the progress. But I will say, currently being 1/4 of the way done with this book, there is a chance I get it self-published by August//September 2026. That is, if I solely focus on this book alone.

I do have a Middle Eastern Fantasy in the works titled “Demon in the Glass” to connect with my Lebanese roots and explore some themes the dark science fiction of Hollow Dominion hasn’t yet allowed. I say yet because I do already anticipate a sequel book to HD at some point.

I have a Lore Document that could be a good teaser for Demon in the Glass, as well as a hand-drawn map of the Talourn Desert where it takes place. Perhaps those will surface depending on where this blog goes and how I continue to use it.
